Josh White Jr. will not be able to perform at the Trinity House
Theatre Benefit Concert due to an unforseen circumstance.
The show will
feature Jan Krist, Jim Bizer, Dave Boutette, Joel Palmer and
Drew Nelson.
Detroit born Jan Krist is a well established veteran of the acoustic
music scene. Jan's musical gifts have been recognized by Billboard
Magazine, Entertainment Weekly Magazine, Dirty Linen, Image Journal,
and others. With 13 nominations and 4 Detroit Metro Music Awards
under her belt, Krist has proven herself to be a Detroit area
favorite. Jan
recently completed a duet CD with Jim Bizer.
Jim Bizer’s songs are a unique blend of humor, catchy melodies, and
his own personal view of the essential craziness of being human -
served up with monster guitar playing and vocals. His songs have
quickly earned accolades: three times he has been selected as a
finalist in Kerrville Folk Festival's New Folk competition and he
was recently awarded the Grand Prize in the Great American Song
contest. Most recently, he was among the very first to be invited to
participate in the song competition at the 2004 Mountain Stage
NewSong Festival in Charlestown, West Virginia. His latest CD,
Connected, was released in 2004.
Dave Boutette’s Midwest is full of passion, humor and shakey grace.
Influenced by songwriters that span from Chuck Berry to Paul
Westerberg, he documents the trips and triumphs of life between the
coasts. Before stepping out on his own, Boutette spent ten years
with the Detroit-based alterna-rock bar kings The Junk Monkeys. His
latest CD is called "The Piccolo Heart."
After years of performing solo, Joel Palmer joined forces with Jim
Nichols to form the Blue Jays, a country blues duo. Jeff Royer
joined the group on bass and sax and brought a jazz influence to the
now trio.
Joel and Jeff went on to create their own original blend of
folk/blues with a touch of jazz in the duo Wanderin' Wheel. Joel is
currently performing music from the Great American Songbook along
with his originals that are inspired by many Jazz Standards.
Drew Neslon’s latest album, "Dusty Road to Beulah Land" marks a
notable growth in his standing as a songwriter and musician. Each
song brings another side of Drew to the forefront, expanding beyond
his folk-singer roots to embrace wider genres. Drew puts his
feelings, and ours, into words and music that capture the spirit and
soul of the world around us all with a common thread: Hope.
